Lunar Station was at the workshop being held at NASA's JPL site. It was exciting to share with other how we are creating and managing our Digital Twins.

Dear Colleague,

It is my distinct pleasure to invite you to a series of activities on the topic of “Digital Twins for Cislunar and Lunar Surface Ecosystem” on behalf of my colleagues from the Aerospace Corporation, Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU-APL), NASA Langley (LaRC), and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).

We will begin with a 2-day workshop, July 18th & 19th at JPL or virtually, followed by a weekly series of virtual TED talks, culminating in a fall workshop on the east coast.

The goals of these activities are to bring together a diverse and engaged community of customers and performers from the government, industry, and academia to:

  • Create and maintain a continually updated vision for the role and impact of digital twins for evolving a cislunar ecosystem.

  • Identify technology challenges and opportunities, collaboration, standards, interoperability, and other elements of more pervasive and effective use of digital twins.

  • Opportunities and challenges with coordinating community resources such as shared data sets, common engineering platforms, and related tools.

  • Discuss possible near-term activities and longer-term strategy for making digital twins more effective and impactful.

  • Identify new grand challenges and infusion opportunities, among others.
