NASA Ames/USGS Workshop invites Lunar Station to speak

NASA and the United States Geological Survey (USGS) are hosting an invitational workshop to inform the development of new technologies to detect and assess off-world mineral resources, as well as to identify alignments with advanced terrestrial applications.

The workshop will bring together a diverse group of experts from national and international communities, leveraging existing and emerging terrestrial mineral resource technologies and partnerships to reduce risk and lower cost barriers. Speakers from Federal Agencies, industry, NGOs and academia will describe the strategic need for Mineral Resource Assessment models on Earth and off-world and define observation and capability gaps to detect and assess mineral resources. Attendees will help refine these observation and capability gaps in sufficient detail that we can identify specific technologies or technology improvements needed to close them.
